Anfield intersects 19.7 meters grading 2.47% nickel at its Mayaniquel Project, Guatemala

Vancouver, British Columbia -- Anfield Nickel Corp. (TSX Venture: ANF) ("Anfield") is pleased to announce new results from its ongoing drill program at its 100% owned Mayaniquel nickel laterite project located in northeastern Guatemala. The results are highlighted by continued excellent intercepts from drilling at the Nueva Caledonia deposit where two new zones have been delineated, a Southeast Zone highlighted by hole NCA10-176 that intersected 19.7 meters grading 2.47% nickel and a Southwest Zone highlighted by hole NCA10-146 that intersected 23.8 meters grading 1.48% nickel including 15 meters grading 1.81% nickel.

The latest drill results from Nueva Caledonia continue to expand the Central and Northeast zones and have intersected significant new mineralization to the southeast and southwest. The Central Zone now contains continuous mineralization over a northwesterly trending area 850 meters long and 400 meters wide. The Northeast Zone has been expanded to 1,200 meters in a north-south direction and up to 500 meters in an east -- west direction. The Central Zone remains open to the north -- northwest while the limits of the Northeast Zone have now been established. Both zones appear to merge with the newly discovered Southeast and Southwest Zones. Approximately 1.5 kilometers to the west, drilling has identified a new zone of mineralization that is contiguous to and north of Hudbay Minerals Inc's Fenix Project's mineral resources. Assay results from the 55 holes drilled in this area are pending (see attached map).

At Nueva Concepcion, the drill program has identified nickel laterite mineralization underlying an area 1,350 meters long averaging 500 meters wide. The deposit is characterized by a continuous, thick zone of higher grade mineralization approximately 600 meters long by 300 meters wide in the south that is bounded to the south and east by basement peridotite rock and gradually thins and becomes discontinuous with lower grades in a northern and westerly direction. The program at Nueva Concepcion is now focused on in-fill drilling the Southern zone into the Indicated Resource category (see attached map).

Drilling continues to expand nickel laterite resources at the Chiis deposit and, to date, has identified mineralization over an area 1,500 meters long and up to 800 meters wide with mineralization remaining open in all directions (see attached map).

This news release includes drill results from holes NCA10-79 and NCA10-81 to NCA10-180 at Nueva Caledonia, NCO10-87 to NCO10-111 at Nueva Concepcion and holes NCC10-10 to NCC10-39 at the Chiis deposit. Significant intercepts from the latest drilling results are shown in the table below. Maps showing the location of the drill holes are attached to this news release (drill holes are currently drilled on a 100 meter by 100 meter grid pattern, except at Nueva Concepcion where in-fill drilling is being completed on nominal 70 meter centers):

These drill results do not differentiate limonite, transition or saprolite zone mineralization. A 0.8% Ni cutoff was used to determine mineralized sample intervals, with one internal sub-cutoff sample allowed per interval.

Six drill rigs are operating at the Mayaniquel project. The initial drill program at Nueva Caledonia, comprising 5,979 meters of drilling in 286 holes, has been completed and the two drill rigs have been moved to the Sechol deposit and Tres Juanes target area. The four remaining rigs continue to operate at Nueva Concepcion (1 rig) and Chiis (3 rigs). To date, 573 holes totaling 12,934 meters have been drilled on the Mayaniquel Project.

The Mayaniquel project comprises mineral exploration licenses totaling approximately 80,000 hectares in the nickel laterite belt surrounding Lake Izabal, 120 kilometers northeast of Guatemala City. Anfield's mineral exploration licenses lie adjacent to the "Fenix Project" owned by Compańia Guatemalteca de Niquel S.A., a subsidiary of HudBay Minerals Inc.

On April 9, 2009, an independent NI 43-101 mineral resource estimate was prepared on the Mayaniquel project as shown in the table below:

Mineral resources do not have demonstrated economic viability.
(1)The Transition zone is a mixed horizon of limonite and saprolite material and was defined using both geological logging data and chemical analysis.
(2)The Saprolite zone represents the lower part of the laterite profile below the Transition zone and was defined using both geological logging data and chemical analysis
(3)DMT -- dry million tonnes.
(4)Chiis is a zone within Nueva Concepcion.

In January 2010, Anfield initiated a 44,000 meter drill program at the project. The program is focused on expanding current NI 43-101 mineral resources at the Sechol and Nueva Concepcion (Chiis) deposits and delineating new resources at the Nueva Caledonia, Tres Juanes and San Lucas target areas.

Andrew Carstensen, CPG, Vice President, Exploration for Anfield, is the Qualified Person as defined by NI 43-101 for the Mayaniquel Project and has reviewed and approved the contents of this news release. The quality assurance/quality control program is monitored by independent consultant Dr. Bruce M. Davis, FAusIMM. Logging and sampling are completed at Anfield's secure facility located at the project. Drill core is mechanically split on site and samples securely transported to Inspectorate America Corp's Guatemala City sample preparation facility and subsequently to ALS Chemex's laboratory in Vancouver, Canada for X-Ray Fluorescence Spectroscopy (XRF) analysis, the common analytical technique used in nickel laterite exploration. Anfield inserts standards, blanks and duplicates selected on a random basis into the sample stream and sends 5% of the sample pulps to a check laboratory in Perth, Australia.
